A short walk along Moorditch Lane to the ‘phalarope pool’ and back.
No.6 tank had 250 Black-tailed Godwit, 10 Dunlin and 43 Tufted Duck. The pumping of sludge into the tank has risen the water level and the Dunlin were finding it difficult to land in the water. A male Western Marsh Harrier pasted through and nearby A Common Cuckoo heralded the warm sunshine, rain and hail.
The ‘phalarope pool’ had earlier seen 26 Black-tailed Godwit and a couple of Northern Lapwing and a Peregrine – per Paul Ralston.
