20.04.20. Birdlog.

I took my excercise after work along the dusty tracks of the marsh. I met a couple of other birders doing likewise and both were keeping a respectful distance in accordance with guidelines.

I eventually passed the ‘phalarope pool’ where the Pectoral Sandpiper was busy feeding at the back of the pool before getting spooked and flying off calling loudly to a much safer area for the duration of my watch. A couple of Little Ringed Plover were in the area and numerous Black-tailed Godwit also.

A quick scan of No.6 tank revealed c100 Black-tailed Godwit, a lone Eurasian Whimbrel, the female Long-tailed Duck hanging out with the Tufted Duck flock and several Cetti’s, Reed and Sedge Warbler with a couple of Western Yellow Wagtail flying over. A male Western Marsh Harrier was also in the area.
