29.08.17. Birdlog

After dropping Sparky off with her friend in Chester I had just enough time to pop in on the marshes. Stopping off and looking across No.6 tank the muddy margins to the flood water were totally devoid of any shorebirds except for a distant calling Curlew.

Ducks were the main attraction with 132 Common Teal, 74 Shoveler, 56 Mallard, 37 Common Shelduck and 24 Tufted Duck. A few Little Grebe were still about before they leave to spend the autumn on the River Weaver.
