25.08.17. Birdlog

An after work and very brief visit to No.6 tank with the tide already on the drop. My first look across the muddy waters of the sludge tank wasn’t impressive. A few shorebirds had lingered long enough for me to do a quick count before they headed out to the Mersey estuary. There were 26 Ringed Plover, 100 Dunlin, 2 Ruff, 10 Redshank and 103 Black-tailed Godwit.

Ducks were all various shades of browns and included 200 Common Teal, 73 Mallard, 7 Gadwall, 16 Tufted Duck, 43 Shoveler and then various size and shapes of 64 Common SHelduck.

Observer: WSM.
