A male Stonechat was on No.1 tank. Over on No.6 tank the flock of Shoveler from yesterday increased to 160 birds while 40 Curlew were hanging out on south-west corner of that tank.
There was a gathering of 23 Ringed Plover, 20 Pied Wagtail and 20+ Chaffinch. A Water Rail was calling from the reed beds. A Merlin flew over No.3 as did a Common Snipe. 2000 Lapwing were present on No.3 with small numbers of 100 Dunlin, Redshank and 150 Golden Plover.
A few thousand Starling were later seen on No.3. A total of 8 Buzzard over marsh along with varying amounts of Raven and 2 Kestrel. A Stoat ran across Brook Furlong track and a Vulpes vulpes was hiding from prying eyes (if you’re know what we mean).
A Short-eared Owl was over No.5 then over no.6. Lastly a Little Grebe with 4 Tufted Duck on the ‘Splashing pool’.
