A short walk along the canal from Ince Berth to the Canal Pools early this morning. There were 2 Great White Egret far out on Ince Marsh and 4 Little Egret about the marsh. A male and female Sparrowhawk hunting the many finch flocks along the pathway. Also present in good numbers of were Golden Plover and Lapwing.
The usual pair of wintering Green Sandpiper were again along the Canal Pool. On the way off the marsh the fields by the pig farm held many Curlew and the roadside bushes were full of Fieldfare and Redwing.
