06.09.14. Starlings, Marsh Farm. Tony Broome.

Marsh Farm (07.30 – 08.36 hrs): 20 Swallow, 1000 Starling, 400 Lapwing over Frodsham Score, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Sparrowhawk, 8 Meadow Pipit and a Common Snipe flying west.

No.6 tank (09.00 -12.45 hrs): 8 Shoveler, 100 Teal, 300 Black-headed Gull, 10 Common Gull, 61 Lapwing, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Ruff, 400 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 1 juvenile Sanderling, 4 juvenile Curlew Sandpiper, juvenile Little Stint, 8 Greenshank on the drier areas then flew towards the Score at 12.15 hrs.

Kingfisher below the banks of No.5 tank from the viewing area. 100 Pied Wagtail including 10 or so White’s, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Grey Wagtail, 3 Chiffchaff, 1 Goldcrest and 7 Meadow Pipit flying south.
06.09.14. Red-legged Partridges. Brook Furlong Lane, Tony Broome
Brook Furlong Lane (by the old log box): 5 Red-legged Partridge, a single Grey Partridge (juvenile type and the shooters say they haven’t put any down?)
Lum area to the Weaver Bend/I.C.I tank (12.55-17.00 hrs): 2 Common Sandpiper, 5 Ruff, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 100 Redshank, 30 Black-tailed Godwit and a single Dunlin. Also noted a Goldcrest and 4 Chiffchaff, 40 Swallow, 4 House and 1 Sand Martin.

An Osprey over the old log parking area at 15.25 -15.37 hrs flying south and then south-east.

06.09.14. Sanderling, No.6 tank, Frodsham Marsh Alyn ChambersDuring the period mentioned above AC independently visited/countered the Weaver Bend where he counted: 350 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Ruff, 1 Curlew Sandpiper and a Bar-tailed Godwit flew over.

No 6 Tank: Among the Dunlin was an unusual orange individual (image attached). Also 3 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Little Stint, 1 Sanderling and 7 Ruff.

1 juvenile Yellow Wagtail in a group of Pied Wagtail. The Pintail flew out to the estuary.
