A lovely Spotted Flycatcher in trees to left of ramp when I arrived. On No.6 tank itself there were 91 Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover and 3 Little Stint. Also 3 Greenshank flew in later, at about 7.00pm. Chiffchaff in bushes alongside path between 5 and 6 tank. Sedge Warbler feeding around edge of small pool on No.6 tank where Little Grebe and young still present. 1 Sparrowhawk chasing Goldfinch flock over No.5 tank.

A watch over the Mersey Estuary from Weston at dusk as the tide partially filled the river. A mixture of Curlew, Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin and Redshank contained in excess of 2,500 birds. A juvenile Peregrine was flying over the works at Weston Point.

Gulls are starting to stream in to their evening roosts with several thousand Lesser-backed Gulls and Black-headed being the most prominent species.
