A Little Egret joined the high tide wader roost on No.6 tank which consisted of 1000 each of Ringed Plover and Dunlin. Other birds with a little more interest included a single Sanderling, 3 Turnstone and 5 Knot. Black-tailed Godwit, an interesting gull spp and 2 Ruddy Shelduck which had a hybrid Shelduck x Mallard combo in tow.
The Dunlin flock were expected to return with the other species back to the estuary to continue their feeding activity after the tide. Unexpectedly they rose in two flocks to leave, they gained height and departed south-east and were lost to view.
Elsewhere Paul saw Sparrowhawk, Peregrine and Little Egret.
