The summering Red-necked Grebe was again on the River Weaver off the Weaver Causeway.
I went to Frodsham Marsh today (25th) for the first time in ages. Good sightings of Sedge and Reed Warbler, Reed Bunting, scores of Goldfinch, Meadow Brown and Skipper Butterfly in good numbers. On the river were Tufted Duck, Coot, Shoveler female with chicks, Redshank, Shelduck, Great Crested Grebe and the current semi-resident Red-Necked Grebe. A good afternoon despite having to wade through the reeds to get to the Weaver Causeway.
