17.06.14. Marsh Harrier (male), Lordship Lane, Frodsham Marsh. Bill Morton

The Lesser Scaup was present on the waters of No.6 tank again until dusk along with 7 Tufted Duck, 1 Pochard, 5 Shoveler and 8 Cormorant. A Marsh Harrier was ranging widely and it provided excellent views along Lordship Lane in the golden glow of the setting sun.

17.06.14. Young Lapwing, Lordship Lane, Frodsham Marsh. Bill MortonA young Lapwing was attempting to conceal itself in the grassy verge along Lordship Lane. Presumably the Cuckoo I saw at two widely spaced locations could well have been the same bird?.

Two Yellow Wagtail were over Lordship Lane and two Grasshopper Warbler were singing from the banks beside the track at the eastern side of No.6 tank at dusk The same banks saw a male Marsh Harrier pop up when I was heading to my car.

I didn’t try for the Red-necked Grebe tonight but I believe it was still present.
