A small but enthusiastic band of birders braved the stiff wind and threat of rain to watch a flock of summer Black-tailed Godwit on the secluded pool on No.6 tank. The Avocets were again on the Shooters pools by the Weaver Bend.
A Cuckoo was on the fence between No.5 and No.6 tank where a Wheatear was about its business. Two Greenland birds were along the pipes on No.1 tank. Small numbers of hirundines were noted moving west.
The highlight certainly for its rarity value were two Common Hare courting at an undisclosed location (pictured above).
