Todays North-Westerly wind wasn’t bringing in any new migrants to the marsh. A couple of Chiffchaff along Moorditch Lane was the best that could be mustered and were probably wintering birds. No.6 tank held 28 Common Teal, 16 Shoveler and 40 Common Shelduck. 8 Tufted Duck found shelter in the Splashing Pool.
Earlier in the day we took a hike around Dead Lake and Blakemere at Delamere Forest and we saw 10 Crossbill, 2 summer male and 3 female Brambling and an adult summer Mediterranean Gull.
