A rather quiet day on the marsh with not a lot to report. Well, Whimbrels on Lordship Marsh and No 6 tank were the best of a bad bunch. A solitary Black-tailed Godwit and a pair of Gadwall also on six was rather poor fare for the time put in. Never mind the Weaver estuary still attracted 148 Tufted Duck, 100 Common Shelduck and 4 Common Sandpiper. A Jay was at the horse paddock field.
Observers: Arthur Harrison, Paul Crawley, WSM.
Evening sunlight illuminating the flooded field at Carr Lane, Hale where the Pectoral Sandpiper resided today. Single Common Snipe, Black-tailed Godwit, 15 Ringed Plover and 12 Dunlin were the only waders viewable when I got there late on. A nice tidy site to watch over with the backdrop of Ineos Chlor at Weston Point dominating the skyline across the river.
