Marsh Harrier (1st summer female? and adult male) over various tanks including No 6 tank. 4 Swallow and 2 House Martin over the River Weaver at Pickerings Lock Pool this afternoon.

3 Wheatear ( 2 on pipes on track to farm ) at 9:00 am, 15 Fieldfare (track to Marsh Farm), 1 Tree Pipit (with a group of Meadows also on side of track to Marsh Farm), 2 Swallow, 2 Sand Martin and a solitary Ringed Plover on No 6 tank. A Whooper Swan continues to be present with the Mute Swans off Lordship Lane.

Frodsham Score: Frank conjured up a fine find with 2 dark-bellied Brent Goose on the tide line. An extremely rare bird in these here parts and congratulations to him for sticking it out until the bitter end…Time and ticks wait for all men!
Other highlights were 46 Golden Plover, 45 Grey Plover. 50 Oystercatcher, female Peregrine, Little Egret, 14 Pink-footed Goose and small numbers of both Teal (80) and Wigeon (45) on the rising tide. 65 Black-tailed Godwit in fields west of the Holpool gutter. Also in the area were 23 Raven, 4 Swallow, 4 House Martin and 7 Sand Martin.

The highlight of what was a really productive day was when Alyn Chambers first heard and then discovered Frodsham Marsh’s 2nd ever Firecrest, the bird was frequenting the Elder trees along the viewing area on No 5-6 tank. Well done Alyn!
