We had 6 Bewick’s Swan on Ince Marshes quite near Stanlow Point and 60 Pink-footed Goose on the low tide count today. No egrets, but perhaps they were probably keeping their heads down out of the cold wind.
Observer: Dermot Smith
A Marsh Harrier was seen this am period by Arthur Harrison.
After work I took advantage of the available evening light before the onslaught of heavy snow forecast for tonight. I decided to position myself below the inside south banks of No 6 tank and keeping a low profile I managed to get really close to the 297 foraging Common Teal, several males in nuptial display.
Also present were 34 Common Shelduck, 6 Common Pochard, 26 Wigeon, 2 Shoveler, 27 Tufted Duck and 47 Mallard.
26 Ringed Plover, 60 Curlew on No 6 tank and 367 Golden Plover with a quarter of them sporting advancing summer plumage.
A minimum of 10 Raven were over and by Marsh Farm.
