03.01.13. Local Waxwings.
Today I found a flock of 16 Waxwings in Widnes at approximately 2.15 pm. The birds were perched in an ornamental tree and were dropping down to the ground to feed on fallen berries? They were along the verge on the westbound Ashley Way West (A562) to the roundabout before the Ditton Road roundabout. I didn’t have time to stop and the traffic is quite busy here. So, if you get a chance tomorrow to have a look you can park in MacDonald’s or, the car park at Leigh Recreation Grounds (rugby pitches) and walk back.
