A Whooper Swan was present for a short period in the morning on No 6 tank (PC).
2 Peregrine, 4 Black-tailed Godwit, 50 Golden Plover, 1 Water Rail calling, at least half a dozen Sparrowhawk sightings, 6 Ruff, 20 Pied Wagtails all on No 6 tank.

An evening watch on No 6 tank saw 67 Common Teal with two Garganey, 16 Shelduck, 40 Tufted Duck and 4 Shoveler.
23 Lapwing, 170 Golden Plover, 6 Ruff, a single Black-tailed Godwit and a flock of 17 Common Snipe with an additional 5 birds flushed by the juvenile Marsh Harrier.
Several Goldcrests were calling along the top banks.

It appears the Manchester Ship Canal Company (Peel Holdings) are placing a gate at the approach to No 6 tank. Please consider this in future when parking on the ramp and please refrain from blocking access to the tank for work vehicles.
