2 Common Sandpiper, 12 Black-tailed Godwit, 43 Ringed Plover and 51 Dunlin on No 6 tank from 15.30 hrs. Teal numbers are beginning to increase with c30 birds present.
A bird watch during the monsoon deluge with thunder and lightning over Frodsham and Helsby Hills made for an interesting session. I was using a telescope attached to a metal tripod at the time. Interesting to observe the behaviour of Ringed Plover especially the juvenile birds seeking refuge in the grassy tussocks. The Dunlin only took flight during the thunder rumbles. Again the Black-tailed Godwits circled overhead before flying back away.

Sparky and I took a walk up to Eddisbury Hill Fort at Delamere Forest from mid morning and found 2 Redstarts in the gorse on the rocky outcrop there at 12.30 hrs (WSM).
