I was once asked by an allotment holder what is the best advice I could  give about the humble slug on his plot and eating all his prized veg. I never really gave him advice but my reply was succinct and at personal cost, true…Never accidently hit one with a strimmer!

Walking back along the track by No 3 tank this evening  I noticed the path ahead was full of slugs in various stages of courtship. So, I got down low and took a shot of this little fella. A real X Factor winner!

The eclipse drake Garganey continues to be seen with a mixed group of Common Teal, Gadwall and Mallard (but generally keeps to its self on the border of the group). 67 Tufted Duck with half a dozen Pochard. One Green Sandpiper, two Black-tailed Godwit and a solitary Redshank. Two Raven over Frodsham Score were the only notable birds away from No 6 tank.
