A Black-tailed Godwit present on No 6 tank from 28th April sporting these coloured leg rings. Yellow then pale green above the knee and silver above the foot. Does anyone know it’s origin?
Hi Bill, pretty sure that the Yellow Wag on Lordship Marsh is a Channel type. Pure white throat, paleness of blue grey head and the extension of supercilium.
06.05.12. lunchtime a male Whinchat showed well on hedgerow opposite slope up to No4 & 6 tanks.
07.05.12. Had two shorties late afternoon – one on 3 and the other hunting the Redwall fields. Plus 3 Yellow Wags around western most fresshwater pool on 3. 22 Wheatears on No2 by farm at 12 noon. c30 Blackwits on flood on Redwall fields + 6 House martins.
Received a text from Paul Crawley this morning with a report of a pale-headed Wagtail on Lordship Marsh. Not totally unusual in May but. none the less a splash of warmer climes on an unusually warm day of late. He also had a Hobby and Marsh Harrier over No 6 tank.
